T-56 Days. This month we are finalizing our communication plans, testing our equipment and working on our "social" skills. To get the ball rolling we've invested in some new gear to go with the cameras, VHFs, shortwave radios we already had.AND we are ramped up our social identity (we are starting with the basics and likely have some catching up to do.

Now, I've got some serious up-skilling to do with any 'production' ready content to share. And the performance BAR is high. There are sooooo many professionals out there will real skills in this area who are 30 years younger than me.So, friends and family, let me start by saying that whatever I post now, I promise that I will get better with practice.(Growth mindset right? I CAN learn Final Cut Pro X!) Just humor me for awhile! Here is my first video test. Thank you to the three people that have liked it so far!As one of my mentors used to say, don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
The goal of communication month is NOT to build a "follower" empire -- but really to ensure that our kiddo, our parents and our friends can track us down, keep in touch and that we get our mail and make sure we pay our taxes on time. And of course most importantly, to have access to weather forecasts or call for help from anywhere. Priorities.
In addition, there is the more artistic personal side of this part of the project -- how to create a collection of memories to look at when I'm 80 (assuming youtube is still around?), the content for the coffee table book I want to "publish" full of all the interesting rock 'islets' we've seen from the water and it would be cool to share some amazing nature with anyone that loves amazing nature.
Onward!
